HEMP 101

Hemp is a variety of the Cannabis Sativa plant

FACTS ABOUT HEMP
THC is the psycho-active component of the Cannabis Sativa plant and hemp genetics yield nearly non-existent amounts of it As such, we ensure that only the highest quality hemp is used in the production process. We harvest our hemp and store it in a temperature and humidity controlled environment until it is dried and ready to be sent to the extraction lab.
FACTS ABOUT HEMP
By law, the hemp plant yields a maximum of 0.3% THC which makes hemp-based products non-psychoactive & legal nationwide As such, we ensure that only the highest quality hemp is used in the production process. We harvest our hemp and store it in a temperature and humidity controlled environment until it is dried and ready to be sent to the extraction lab.
FACTS ABOUT HEMP
Hemp has been used for thousands of years to manufacture a wide variety of products and finished goods for every day use As such, we ensure that only the highest quality hemp is used in the production process. We harvest our hemp and store it in a temperature and humidity controlled environment until it is dried and ready to be sent to the extraction lab.
FACTS ABOUT HEMP
The nutrients and compounds in the hemp plant have a variety of potential benefits when properly formulated into products As such, we ensure that only the highest quality hemp is used in the production process. Is hemp just CBD?

CBD is just 1 of 113 active phyto-cannabinoids in a cannabis plant.
CBD itself is not psycho active, much like the vast majority of phyto-cannabinoids.
A phyto-cannabinoid is simply a chemical compound within the plant itself and it interacts with the human body’s natural cannabinoid receptors (we all have them).
Exactly. Hemp extracts do contain CBD, but they also contain a wide variety of other cannabinoids
At Venterra Farms, we sell hemp derived products. We make this designation because hemp as a whole plant (containing CBD and other cannabinoids) has a variety of beneficial uses that can be realized through the use of hemp-based products. Furthermore, all products we sell are made with hemp that we grew on our own farm.

THE SEED TO SALE PROCESS

1. FARM & HARVEST HEMP PLANTS

2. EXTRACT OIL FROM HEMP PLANTS

3. CREATE PRODUCTS FROM HEMP OIL

How does a plant turn into oil?

All of the hemp photography on this website is from our farm in Ventura, California. We do not outsource farming and we do not buy our raw hemp plants from any other farms. We control the farming process from start to finish. As such, we ensure that only the highest quality hemp is used in the production process. We harvest our hemp and store it in a temperature and humidity controlled environment until it is dried and ready to be sent to the extraction lab.

We utilize a method called sub critical extraction which is a procedure that uses pressure remove the phyto-cannabinoids from the plant. Unlike solvent based extraction methods, sub critical extraction uses CO2. This method allows us to maintain the functional benefits of the phyto-cannabinoids.

CO2 extraction is free of residual solvents, helping keep the finished oil clean. It is also all natural, as opposed to other methods. Better yet, this method is environmentally friendly and safer for those conducting the extraction process.

The result of extraction is hemp oil which contains all of the naturally occurring elements – called “Full Spectrum” hemp oil. This means that products made from this oil benefit from all of the phyto-cannabinoids available in the hemp plant. Other methods break down the plant into an “isolate” form which pulls out just the CBD cannabinoid out of the plant.

While this may sound better on the surface, it is actually more effective to utilize the full panel of compounds that are extracted from the hemp plant. Therefore, the term full-spectrum oil is correct. In short, it is a non-psychoactive oil filled with the complete cannabinoids structure of the hemp plant, yielding the most possible benefits for the consumer.

Why Should I use hemp products?

Integrating full-spectrum hemp products into your daily routine is a natural way to contribute to a sense of peace, calm, and relaxation. It can also promote a healthy sleep cycle as well as immune support and overall wellness.

The endocannabinoid system

Your body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS) helps maintain homeostasis which is an optimal state of balance and equilibrium. The cannabinoids in the hemp plant can help to replenish the ECS by interacting with cannabinoid receptors. Your body already produces Endocannabinoids naturally so adding more to your system has the possibility of enhancing your day-to-day experiences.

We all have cannabinoid receptors in our brain, gut, and immune system to support mental and physical health. Throughout your body, cannabinoids perform different tasks to help maintain balance during the day and throughout the night.

Product Types

Tinctures are popular for their quick onset of effects and are generally taken sublingually (under the tongue and held for 60 seconds). This method of consumption allows you to bypass the digestive system for a quicker, full body effect in the ECS. Additionally, the dropper bottles allow you to choose the exact dosage with a measurement on the pipette in the resealable glass vessel. Alternatively, you can put tinctures into coffee or blend it into a smoothie. However, this will force the cannabinoids to be processed by the digestive system which may yield slower absorption.

Gummies are one of the most convenient and discreet methods of consumption. Unlike a sub-lingual tincture, the onset of the effects is slower as the cannabinoids must be processed through the digestive system. However, this does provide a slower, longer-lasting effect. Additionally, gummies are easy to transport. Venterra Farms infuses its gummies with functional botanicals for enjoyable flavor and effect. The list of ingredients of each topical is listed on the specific product pages.

Capsules are a great way to integrate full-spectrum hemp oil into your daily routine, morning or night. They are consumed like any other pill and promote effective support and relief. Depending on the intended effect, capsules are a great boost to your morning or cap to your evening. Venterra Farms infuses its capsules with functional botanicals to increase the effects. The list of ingredients of each topical is listed on the specific product pages.

Which product is right for me?

It may feel overwhelming when trying to decide which hemp product to try first. At Venterra Farms, we offer capsules, tinctures, gummies, and topicals. When it comes to choosing one, your preference can be determined by ease, convenience, or the size of the dose. Capsules are easily ingestible like any other pill. Tinctures are a liquid form that are dropped under the tongue. Gummies are exactly like they sound, chewy and sweet. Topicals are applied directly to the skin.

How much should I take?

Dosing hemp-based products is completely dependent on the effect that you are trying to produce. Each product by Venterra Farms comes with recommended dosage. However, there is no “one size fits all” formula and, if you have never tried our products, we encourage you to start with the lowest recommended dose.

More About Tinctures

Venterra Farms tinctures are formulated with our full spectrum hemp oil, functional botanicals, and MCT Oil. MCT (Medium Chain Triglyceride) is a saturated fatty acid that is a high quality carrier oil. Due to the fact that cannabinoids are fat-soluble, this creates an effective absorption process. The functional botanicals are carefully chosen for each tincture. The list of ingredients of each tincture is listed on the specific product pages.
